Galvanized steel coils are produced in two main processes: hot-dipped galvanized and electro-galvanized. It can be available in thicknesses from 0.13 to 0.8 mm and widths from 6 to 12.5 cm, with a maximum length of 10 feet (3 m) when unfolded.
Galvanised coil, a thin steel plate that is dipped into a molten zinc bath so that a layer of zinc adheres to its surface. A thin layer of zinc is applied to the steel to act as a barrier between the steel and the environment.
